Once upon a time, Copy with Cream only offered copywriting. But over the last 20-odd years, so much has changed. The internet was born, websites became the way of doing business and business owners’ needs changed dramatically. So, along the way, I created and added extra copywriting services, many unique to Copy with Cream. Here’s a list of the copywriting services I offer… what do you need?
- Web Content Writing
- Blog Posts
- Elevator Pitch
- Website Checkups
- Testimonial Gathering
- Editing and Proofreading
- Coaching and Mentoring
The word copywriting literally means ‘writing copy’ or ‘writing words’. Traditionally, copywriting was an advertising agency term, and was mainly about writing ads. But today, Copy with Cream can help you with the words for your website, your blog, your brochures and flyers, ads and editorials, emails, newsletters, facebook posts, direct marketing and more. So many people focus only on their website but it pays not to forget offline advertising. Find out more about copywriting here or if you’re ready to go, call me for a quote.
Web content writing is, as the name suggests, all about creating content for your website. Copy with Cream specialises in writing unique, original content for you. Unique content means it’s not ‘copy and pasted’ from anywhere else on the internet. This is very important, because when Google really likes your (unique!) web content, it will rank your website more highly. I’ve come up with a formula for that… Better words = better Google ranking = more potential customers finding you = more sales = more profits for your business. Call me and let’s chat about creating some unique content for your website.
These days, it’s important to keep in touch with your customers which usually means a blog presence. But what on earth do you put on there? How do you make it interesting? How do you keep coming up with new ideas? If your latest blog post is 18 months ago, let me support you. We can brainstorm ideas, I can write your content for you or edit what you’ve written. To find out more, please give me a call.
Brainstorming is all about coming up with some creative new ideas, getting clear on the main message and the focus of your website or your marketing. A brainstorming session is ideal if you have a lot of questions that you want answers to, if you have some ideas for your website that you want to get some feedback on, or maybe you have so many ideas that you don’t know which way you should go! A brainstorming session is 90 minutes and it can be in person, via Zoom or over the phone. Find out more about a Copy with Cream brainstorming session here or if you’re ready to go, give me a call.
An Elevator Pitch is a very quick introduction to yourself and when I say quick, I mean about 10 seconds. Many people get very nervous and totally stuff it up, usually in one of two ways. They either stumble and mumble and don't say much at all, or they start babbling on with such great enthusiasm that they overwhelm the person who asked, who eventually walks away, none the wiser. This terrible first impression usually happens simply because they are not prepared. If either of those examples sounds like you, don't worry. I can help you fine-tune your elevator pitch so that you sound confident, get your message across clearly, and make a fabulous first impression. Want help? Call me.
A website checkup is the perfect thing to do if you know your existing website needs some TLC but you don’t quite know exactly what you should do with it. Now, sometimes a website really is beyond help. It could be old, clunky, out of date, or just wrong. But don’t ditch it before you get another opinion! Because it might be well worth saving, with a few (or quite a few) changes. A Copy with Cream website checkup will let you know if your website needs tweaking or tossing. It could save you a lot of time and effort, not to mention money! To have a chat or book your website checkup, please give me a call.
Have your happy customers told you that they’d really love to give you a testimonial but they haven’t done one yet? Yes, I know it’s frustrating but they’re probably not being lazy. Over the years, I’ve discovered that there are usually a couple of reasons they haven’t written you one. 1. They don’t have time. 2. They don’t know what to write. Let me call them and interview them on your behalf and then write up their brilliant testimonial for you! You’ll be glad you did. To find out more, please give me a call.
Editing and proofreading is another service that Copy with Cream can offer you. If you’ve written your own website or brochure, I really recommend that you get someone else to check it — because it’s actually very hard to spot your own mistakes. Spelling errors, grammatical errors or pesky apostrophes in the wrong place. You’re too close to it. One client said that ‘everyone at the office had had a look’ and ‘it was all good’. Luckily, the graphic designer insisted they get me to check it. Good thing they did — I found over 100 errors in their 16-page brochure! To get your quote, give me a call.
I wrote this eBook specially for the small business owner who wants to DIY. It’s called ‘Better Advertising in 1 hour’ because you can read it in under 1 hour. (Because who’s got time!) Inside, you’ll find 75 easy-to-read pages containing many years of experience — stacks of great info about not just writing, but also design, branding, photography, typography, signage and much more. Just about everything a small business owner needs to know to get them out of trouble when they’re writing or designing their website, brochure, or business cards. It’s not necessarily going to turn you into a copywriter, but it will empower you. It’s free with your brainstorming session or you can buy it here.
Coaching for clients, for staff members or for young and emerging copywriters. Copy with Cream Coaching goes at your individual pace and can really help you write better content for your website, blogs and more. You can choose a one-off coaching session to give you a few tips and get you on your way, or ongoing coaching — whichever works best for you.
I also mentor young copywriters who are new to the industry and to running their own freelance business. Because sometimes it's not about the writing, it's about all the other stuff (admin, time managment, overwhelm, chasing money etc) that you have to deal with when running your own freelance business.
